

John Whitney’s work focuses on the natural resources issues that affect the Western Slope including public lands, energy, wildlife and water issues. The artists have all been juried into multiple national shows many have won awards. The collective also creates opportunities for exhibits such as the yearly show at Smiley, exhibits for non-profits like San Juan Citizens Alliance and shows at local businesses. The Looking Glass Collective consists of twenty artists who meet monthly to critique one another’s work. The show continues through January 30, 2020. All paintings are for sale with 30% of sales going to Durango’s Local First’s efforts to establish a Creative District in Durango. Meet the artists and see their work in oil, pastel and watercolor.
